Commissioned Piece “Portraits” Premieres in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Camerata premiered the choral work by composer Michael Markowski titled Portraits at Shadyside Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, PA, on February 9, 2025. The church is the host of the current Pennsylvania Chapter of Souls Shot Portrait Project’s exhibition of portraits. The concert and reception following brought a large crowd and media to interact with the souls represented in the portraits. Our thanks to the Reverend Austin Shelley and Music Director Mark Anderson for their unflagging support of the project and for making the concert and exhibition possible. The exhibition will be on view through April 9.
