Kenneth Moseley

From his life partner and father of her children, Caite Wolak: Kenny was an incredible father to his sons, King and Kevin. They love, respect, and admire their Daddy with every part of their being. They too were the center of his universe. Kenny also was a devoted son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend. He possessed an unwavering commitment to and unconditional love for the people he cared about. Kenny’s death has left a large void in our lives. A bright light was extinguished, a laugh was silenced, a kind heart was stopped. Yet, Kenny will forever live on in all of us in the memories and time we shared.

From the artist, Linnie Kerrigan Greenberg: I shed a few tears while making this portrait for the Souls Shot project. Here’s a young man, obviously an excellent, loving and attentive father, wrenched from the lives of his sons by a gun. He’ll never see them grow up to be fine young men. He’ll never know the sweet bliss of grandchildren. Stephen Hawking said, “We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe.” Unfortunately, those shot down in the prime of their lives have been robbed of the opportunity to appreciate all that life has to give.

From the curator: The way the artist has encapsulated the images of Kenneth and his family is like a thought bubble or gentle cloud floating unaware of the violence in the background. It is a beautiful image with a sober reminder of the invasive violence in the communities of many of the subjects of the Souls Shot project.
